Rosa Village Co-op
About the Project
In 2020, SquareOne received a generous donation of a 3.3 acre property at 2243 Roosevelt Blvd in Eugene. We began using the northern portion of the site to provide non-congregate shelter beginning in 2021, which eventually evolved into the new home for Opportunity Village when it needed to relocate from its original site in 2023.
The southern 2.0 acres of the site will be the future home of Rosa Village Co-op, with 52 new permanently affordable homes. Plans include 40 one-bedroom flats and 12 two-bedroom townhomes within a village setting that includes a 1,800 square foot common house with shared amenities.
The common house provides space for residents to meet, share a meal, do laundry, and access other shared resources. A central open space provides ample outdoor common space with opportunities for gardening, and plans also include a fenced dog park on the recessed eastern end of the property.
Similar to Peace Village, the homes at Rosa Village are designed with deep energy efficiency in mind and targeting net zero energy ready performance. Increased sustainability measures include highly insulated 2x8 wall construction, elevated air tightness measures, fully insulated slab construction, and heat pump water heaters & mini- split heating & cooling. Plans also include metal roofing to accommodate solar panels after construction is completed.
A new permanently affordable multi-family housing co-op, sharing a site with a transitional tiny house village.
